Upcoming Events

On-Going Knitting Project
Please join us in a group craft project for the Welcome Home Ministry.  We are going to knit afghans for the clients who are placed in housing through Bethesda Cares, to give them a special layer of home-made warmth.  Knitters of ALL LEVELS are welcome, even absolute beginners!  We are working with a very simple pattern made in blocks, and we guarantee that we can teach anyone to do some part of it!  Yarn will be provided, and needles if you need them.  Please RSVP to Andrea Medici, esqdrea@verizon.net or 301-897-5763 to let her know you are interested.

WOMEN'S EVENING BOOK GROUP

All women are welcome!  Remember the (very unofficial) BUMC Women’s Book Group motto:  "Come join as your schedule and interests allow!"  Please do be in touch if you are able to volunteer as our hostess for any dates.  I will pass on location information as that is determined.  Good reading all, Dawn Lowrie.

We Need You!  Please consider these opportunities to serve:

Sandwich Sunday
On the first Sunday of each month, BUMC collects sandwiches for Martha's Table.  We would like to encourage  you to make SANDWICH SUNDAY one of your regular activities at BUMC.  It's a great activity for the entire family and a chance for you and your kids to contribute and serve.  You don’t have to join a group or attend any meetings.  Just follow these simple instructions.
  • Mark the first Sunday of each month on your calendar
  • Buy extra bread, lunch meat, and cheese and make a “loaf” of sandwiches (or several “loaves”)
  • Bring your sandwiches to the Church kitchen as you arrive at Church on the first Sunday of each month.
Please call (301-765-5030) or e-mail Nancy or Bruce Smith if you have questions.
