Youth Ministry
Our youth, parents, staff and entire congregation are excited about what God is doing through our youth ministry at BUMC!  Fun, faith and fellowship are all part of our program for youth in grades 6 through 12.  Youth from over 21 different middle, high and private schools are active participants in our program.  With the help of a dedicated team of adult volunteers we help youth explore their faith through creative study, challenging service and exciting fellowship opportunities.  We are thrilled to walk along with youth as they grow in and serve for Jesus!

Sunday School Classes

Every Sunday morning from 9:50 to 10:40 a.m. between our worship services we have a team of devoted teachers who offer interactive lessons for youth.  We have separate classes for middle and senior high.  Confirmation is offered every other year for 7th graders and above.

UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship)

This is the heart of our youth ministry at BUMC!  We gather most Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for games, service projects, faith reflections and a lot more!  Each year we host special events for youth that include a live nativity, snow tubing, World Vision 30 Hour Famine, the haunted forrest, concerts, our infamous fall kick-off, Souper Bowl of Caring and much more!  Youth are always encouraged to B.A.R.F. (Bring A Real Friend).

Common Ground

Youth are encouraged to join our awesome youth praise band called Common Ground.  This very talented group of instrumentalists and vocalists who practice select Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. to prepare the contemporary Christian music that often rocks our sanctuary.  The band helps lead worship on a regular basis and also takes their show on the road for special performances at other churches and youth camps.  They are always looking for new members to jump in and "jam" with them!

Summer Faith In Action Mission Trips

Each summer our youth have the incredible opportunity to participate in short-term mission trips.  Youth get to help with meaningful home repairs and touch the hearts of elderly, disabled and disadvantaged people in need.  Our youth have been blessed to serve communities in Belize, Puerto Rico, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, Montana, Tennessee, North & South Carolina, and Maryland.
