Fellowship Opportunities

Men's Group
The Bethesda UMC Men's Group is a network of men who share faith and fellowship in a variety of settings.  Our purpose is to provide a place for meaningful relationships, support, conversation, and mutual encouragement. We meet for Breakfast at the Old Georgetown Grille on the first Wednesdays of the month from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m. and rotate around to people's homes on the 3rd Wednesday for conversation and study. Additionally, there is a tennis group that plays together from late Spring through early fall, occasional work nights at the church, and an annual retreat to the beach.  To find out more about the group or to get on the e-mail list, contact the church office.

Women's Book Group
BUMC’s Women’s Evening Book Group meets approximately 7 times a year between September and June. Our book discussions are held at participants’ homes to encourage a welcoming, casual and candid atmosphere. The books read are selected collectively in the fall and usually include a range of genres from fiction to history to memoirs. Generally we are attracted to books which provide good material for thought and discussion, such as characters facing a moral dilemma, and which expand our personal experiences. All female readers of the church are encouraged to join in "as your interests and schedules allow". The book choices and meetings held various Wednesdays at 7:45 pm are announced in the church Weekend Update and newsletter. Email Dawn Lowrie for more information or call at 240-497-0990.

Retreat Ministry
Our expanding retreat ministry is another opportunity for you to grow in your faith. Come break your routine and get away for time to reflect and renew at one of our Women's Retreats, the All-Church Retreat or the Spring Men's Retreat.
