BUMC offers a variety of opportunities for adults to gather in small groups for learning and fellowship.
We have three weekly adult Sunday School classes (Parenting in Faith; Crossroads; and Philosophy, Theology, and Religion) which meet on Sunday mornings. More information about these classes is available under the Sunday School tab.
Short Stories by Jesus
This winter we are offering Short Stories by Jesus, The Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi. The class, held on Tuesday evenings, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m, looks in depth at 6 parables and how they speak into our lives today. Parables often leave us uncomfortable or perplexed with at least some part of the story. This bible study will be a safe place to explore those thoughts and feelings and to see how God is speaking in light of our responses to these short stories. We hope you’ll join us, Tuesdays at 7:30, starting January 15th! Contact Rev. Scott or Rev. Jenny to sign up.
Dialoguing with Dignity
All are welcome to join us for a 5 session study on having difficult conversations, and preparing ourselves for the upcoming General Conference, as we practice having Christ-Centered Conversations with one another, learning more about different perspectives the biblical teachings around human sexuality, and how to listen well to one another. We will gather on Wednesdays in January and February from 7:30-9:30pm starting the first weeks of January, - February 6th. If you’re interested, please contact Rev. Scott.
Lenten Small Groups - Starting in March!
During Lent, adults have the opportunity to sign up for one of our Small Groups, which meet once a week for five weeks in homes around the area. These very popular groups provide an opportunity to gather for Bible study, reflection, and the chance to get to know one another on a deeper level.
